Am I legal to carry at the Old Town Spring Crawfish Festival

I will be going to the crawfish festival in Spring, Texas this weekend and want to know if I am legal to carry. I know that carrying in a school, sporting event, hospital, govt. bldg. is a no no. But I wasn't sure about festivals. I thumbed through my booklet on the chl law and I didn't see an obvious answer to my question. So I figured that I would ask fellow Texans who hopefully can answer my question. If possible can someone point out where in the law it says it's ok or not ok to carry at a festival.
Thanks

The places off-limits under state law are defined in Penal Code 30.06, 46.03, and 46.035. Festivals are not off-limits by definition.
I have never been to Old Town Spring, but according to this thread you should be able to carry there:

People always speculate about venues that serve alcohol. The question is never settled to everyone's satisfaction. I would not worry about it, and I live in a place where public streets are sometimes permitted for alcoholic-beverage sales.

A better question would be if you'll be consuming some adult beverages while carrying at the festival this weekend?
If so, leave the weapon behind. Otherwise, it's like any other public place.

Agreed...back in the late 80's when it wasn't so commercialized it was the bomb.

I live approx. 10 minutes from OTS, and I was talking with a Harris County Constable's Deputy and an HC Sherriff's Deputy this morning (neighbors) and they both said that there is no restriction at the Crawfish Festival in OTS. I partook last weekend...I'll be on Lake Fork this coming weekend. Have a good time in Old Town Spring...and carry if you're not drinking.
