I know it's up right now (HB 1893) but I can't find any threads about the likelihood of its actually passing. So the first person to say "do a search" is a rotten egg.

When can word be expected on this and Parking?
(Just a best guess-hours, days, weeks, months,???)

Not likely IMO.

At least not this session. The media has not "honestly" represented the proposal (most of the time). As a result, the bulk of the citizenry (who even know about it) have been persuaded to think that the bill would allow ANY person to carry a concealed weapon on campus.

Rarely are the requirements/exclusions cited in an article.

Then we have another obstacle: Academia is largely "liberal" ....meaning that "most" will have anti-gun sentiments.

It's a "tough row to hoe".

I actually read just today that well over half of the house members have signed on to co-sponsor the bill. Now, that doesn't mean it will get past the Senate, but one can hope, right? I am still in college...for the 4th time, and I currently carry there frequently...at the request of the department head, after a freshman student made some threats, and was subsequently caught on campus with a weapon. But, as a police officer, I am allowed to carry a weapon on campus, but I would certainly feel safer knowing that I had some fellow students backing me up with their weapons.

According to the legislature's website, 73 representatives (out of 150) have signed onto HB1893, while 13 senators (out of 31) have signed onto SB1164.

The site may be a couple days out of date, but it has a cosigner who signed on 3/30, so it is relatively recent.

I think it just may pass this time. It's fairly low key on the news here and this is at a time where some states have a bill very simular to ours.
It's good that the Senate and House have almost, if not the same wording on the bill. That took for site and planning.
I work at a University and I would like to carry if allowed. At this time, my piece stays locked in the car. The police chief gave the on that.
If they don't, it's not much we can do about it right now.

The biggest danger to either the parking lot bill or campus carry isn't whether it has enough votes to pass as it is, but whether someone ammmends it into something intolorable.

An open vote isn't the danger, its the backdoor dirty tricks.
