I have noticed a few people in here are from my local area. I was just curious have you guys seem many 30.06 signs up around here? I can't say I have found one anywhere in the area so far but I have not been looking too hard.

The only one I have seen is on the ATM "booth" at a bank on east side of 1960 near I45. It used to be a Teacher's Credit Union, but changed names last year. I wrote them a letter to complain, but never heard anything back.

It is posted in the worse possible place, on the glass of the ATM "booth". In order to use their ATM at night, you would have to disarm and then lock yourself in the booth.

I know the palce, I used to go there. That's funny!
A 30.06 sign on a ATM booth? What do they think we'll do stick up the machine?

Hello, Diode.

Can't say I've noticed any 30.06 postings around here, other than your typical 51% signs. Mostly I just see the "Unlicsensed possession of a firearm on these premises..." mubmo-jumbo. dws1117 is in Spring, and he posted about the Taco Cabana in Spring being posted with the 30.06. If you're interested see the Taco Cabana in Spring Posted 30.06 in this section of the forum.

By the way, where do you shoot???

Not much I can add. Thanks, Jlaw.

This is the Taco Cabana near the Spring Wal-Mart at Louetta.

That is the only sign I've seen in the area. My wife's bank used to have on of the ghostbuster sign until I mentioned to her that was horse manure. Fortunately that didn't replace it with a real one.

What part of Spring are you? I'm in the Mongomery County side off of Rayford road.

We might just have to get us Spring/Woodlands guys together for some shooting noise one day.

If you mean by that, Shooter's Station on 105, it's a nice range. Been there a few times. I wouldn't be opposed to meetin' some folks up there.

There's a few in Conroe, Shooters Station on 105, Gun Emporium out on 2854, and I believe Thunder Gun Range is somewhere in the south/south-east Conroe area maybe?

Yeah, Shooter's Station and Gun Emporium aren't too far apart. I've shot at Shooter's Station and like it alot. I stopped in Gun Emporium one day. Didn't shoot, but the store was nice, and the range looked good. I've been wanting to shoot skeet there some time.

As for Thunder Gun Range, I've had a bad experience there, and really don't care to give them my patronage ever again. Ya'll may like it though.

SS is a decent indoor range. Someone suggested metting there one day. Wednesday and Thursday nights are out because they have leagues and it's just very busy. Saturdays are way to busy. Not sure about Sundays, Don't think I've been on Sunday more than once or twice.

Gun Emporium is good. Outdoor range. I can say that you have to watch your own butt. Never was any RO. No called ceasefires. Ceasefires were by vote on the line. Never had any problems though.

Yeah, they have "leagues" on wednesday and thursday nights, but they are very informal. You could show up and shoot with the league for one night if you wanted, but the range fee is $15 instead of 12. Or you could shoot on the other side opposite the league, but there are only like 4 lanes on that side. I've done the league thing a couple weeks and it's actually pretty fun to be timed etc. Lot's of nice folks to talk to though.

I will be shooting tomorrow (Thursday night) at Shooter's Station in Conroe. It will not be the league shoot but the other side. If any of you Spring, Woodlands, Oak Ridge North area people would like to join your more than welcome.

If you do show up, I'll be the larger bald guy in the green Gander Mountain hat.

I should get there between 6:00 and 6:30.
