Fingerprinting & Packet Submission Questions

#1

Post by HankB »

1. I understand there's a DPS facility near Highland Mall in Austin where I can get my fingerprints done, somewhere off of Airport Blvd - exactly WHERE is it? Last two times, I had them done (re-done, actually) right in the building where I turned in my packet . . . but I understand they've moved the fingerprinting facility. (I'd rather not have the hassle of the "FAST" system they're hyping . . . and would prefer to get them done someplace close to where I'm going to turn in my packet. )

2. Since I'm in the Austin area, I'd rather submit my completed packet in person, rather than mail it. Is the CHL processing facility still in that same little building in back of the main DPS HQ on Lamar?

That would be the Denson Lane location. If you leave the Highland Mall parking lot with the stoplight on the West side you will cross over RR tracks and the DPS station is on the right...can't...shouldn't be able to miss it. Fingerprinting is done VERY quickly most times. Then you can drive down the street 2 blocks turn left and drop it off!

Got it done at the DPS building on Denson . . . which actually shows up on Google Maps "Street View" feature.

And you turn in your packet at "Building I" at the main DPS HQ . . . they changed buildings since last time I renewed, this building's main entrance looks more like a loading dock and faces Guadalupe street.
