Army reservist

#1

Post by armp »

Hello all,
First of all my name is Josh. I am a military Mp in the Army reserves. Can anyone tell me what I have to do to get a CHL? Do I still have to take a class? Can I bypass the class and just submit the paperwork? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you so much

You still have to take the test. You can submitt some paperwork & bypass the shooting proficiency but that is the fun part. :fire :fire

You pay to go to the class

You send NO money to the state but have to send a photocopy of your LES proving that you are active in the reserves

If you are a veteran you send just a simple photocopy of your DD-214 for a 50% discount...active duty get 100% discount

Thanks for your service Josh.
I wish I had known this back in September '07 when I took the class and submitted my application, since I was in the Army
1972-1975. Could have saved $70. Probably just spent it on ammo anyway.

I'm active duty military and I was able to get my license fees waived. Definately send a copy of your most recent LES and for the shooting qual I was told that you will have to send in your qualification paperwork for M9. I went ahead and did the qualification during my class cause I hate shooting the M9. I'm over here in Baghdad right now and I can't wait to be able to carry my xd when I get home in October! Good luck with your permit.
