Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show

#1

Post by NguyenVanDon »

Is anyone going to be attending the show this year? Is the Rodeo show CHL friendly? I would hate to go and see a 30.06 sign. BTW, this would be my first time going to the Rodeo Show... :hurry:

The Rodeo is a professional sporting event. State will not allow carry there.

Is a rodeo a professional sporting event? Or is it entertainment? Like a play etc.?

How is "Professional sporting event" defined?

Texas State Fair in Dallas has sporting events going on also. We are allowed to carry there, why would the Rodeo Show be any different?

I don't have time to search out the answer, but, AFAIR, the livestock show is good to go. The rodeo, however is a professional sporting event. The participants are paid determined by how well they do. The rodeo is a PRCA event (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association). Pack away at the midway and the livestock show. Carrying into the rodeo arena is, IMHO, illegal.
Remember, in a life-or-death situation, when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.

It ain't, and that is the whole problem. Without the black & white definition in the TPC of a Professional Sporting Event, then you are left up to your imagination (monster truck rallies, wrestling, etc.) Yes, they have professional in the name, but are they what was intended?

My favorite question is, how about a Dog Show? Showing dogs is a sport, and there are people that do it professionally, so does that constitute a Professional Sporting Event? I don't think that was the intent, but it could be twisted around if someone wanted to get sticky about it.

Without clear definitions or a test case, the world may never know.

Does anyone else have a definite answer on this event? How is the Houston Rodeo be any different than the Texas State Fair?

Here it is in simple Deep East Texas Redneck English.
While you are on the fair grounds the rides & shows are not Professional Sporting Events.

When you enter the Rodeo arena you have just entered the Professional Rodeo Cowboys playing stadium.

I have the same problem here when the Forest Festival comes to Lufkin. All the Grounds, eats, shows are are OK. When folks enter the gate to the Professional Lumberjack Competition, they have just entered the Playing Field of the Professional Lumberjacks.

Every man makes his own choices. Carry and accept any consequences. (concealed is concealed & no one knows) (get bumped in the line & reported for a Man w/ a gun)
(disarm & enjoy the rodeo) (disarm & stay worried all the time) ............

It gets more confusing with every inquiry. The rule/law reads that you may not carry on the premises. That makes the state fair questionable on Texas OU day.

I do not beleive there is any professional sporting events that take place at the fair. Competion there is for ribbons rather than dollars.
