Any inside the waistband rigs that you've used comfortably that do not require one to wear a belt? I'm just looking for something that sits in a position that would make me less nervous than where the SmartCarry points....

Belly band ? I've used one sometimes in summertime to keep weight off draw-string shorts.

I think it would have more to do with the gun then the holster, I have hung my ultra light 38 on my gym shorts with a good drawstring. Cheep-o nonprime IWB uncle mikes.

You need an IWB holster that utilizes "Talon" clips. The Alessi Talon for example.

Thanks y'all. The belly band looks like it rides a little too high. I guess I should first try and find a talon clip holster that fits my Ruger SR9.

Thanks, but they are similar to the SmartCarry. I tried the SmartCarry and it was comfortable and worked well, but there are certain parts of my anatomy that have a tendency to work their way directly in front of the barrel. I know that the gun is not going off without a finger in the trigger but Murphy's law applied to holstering accidents makes me REALLY nervous.

Like cjate said, with an ultralight revolver (like S&W 340), I frequently carry IWB in a thin holster in draw string shorts.

With a heavier gun, I've positioned the top of a belly band near the top of whitie-tighties and slipped shorts or jeans over it all. No amount of "experimenting" though made me care for belly bands in 95 degree heat and 80% humidity.
