With the Castle doctine now in place here, my understanding is you are under no reasonable duress to retreat before use of ldeadly force to defend yourself when in fear of your life (or indeed property I guess) while in an area you can lawfully and peaceably occupy.
However, if the threat is retreating, and it could be construed that individual still constitutes a threat to others, could you still shoot? I bet it would be kinda dicey chasing the bad guy down the street, but what if he is in retreat and gets shot in the back?
