Since everyone loves talking about non-compliant signs...

Just thought I'd see what any of you thought about a sign my buddy and I saw outside of "Guns-R-Us" in Waco. A sign outside the door read as follows:

DO NOT ENTER IF:

1. YOU ARE A CONVICTED FELON.

2. YOU ARE CARRYING A LOADED FIREARM.

3. YOU ARE NOT AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD.

This place has to be the dingiest, most run down, and sketchiest store I have ever entered, by the way. The owner open carried (no problem by me) but looked just plain angry that we were there. We left before he decided to shoot us for being ugly, or whatever misdeed it was that we committed.

Did you notice a sign that said, "If we're closed, just shove your money under the door"?

I have never been in that place; do they have any kind of inventory? as I am looking for a slight used 1911.

Just walking in there made me sad. I missed McBride's and Sportsman's Fines quite deeply.

When I was in Waco doing the meteorology for the National Hot Air Balloon Championships I stopped in there and down. They were nice to me and we chatted for quite a while. They had a decent inventory, but it is a small shop and packed pretty tight, so not a lot of open browsing. They even dug around quite a bit looking for a hard to find clip for a Remington rifle.

I also stopped in at the Hewitt Gun Shop. They were WAY friendly. Talked to them for almost two hours!!!!

Like any Mom and Pop shop; if you catch them on a bad day, they may not be as friendly and you only have one or two on staff to deal with. I have found that at the bigger stores too if you get a sales person that is not having a good day.
