At this time, the important thing for me if open carry were to ever be approved -- it should stand on it's own merits and should not replace or interfere with concealed carry.

Is there any chance of any open carry bills to be introduced this year?
I would sure like the option.

I would like to see open carry in this state but only for people meeting the requirements for a CHL I don't thing it should be allowed for anyone without a license. I personaly prefer to carry concealed but would like to see open carry so that if I have an oops it does not put me in violation of the law. I would not be concerned about the security of my weapon in an open carry situation because even during concealed carry I am pretty protective of the area around my gun.

I'd like to see Alaska Carry

Pack-em if you got-em

This thread seems an appropriate place to put a link to the "Texas Citizens Defense League". I ran across their website the other day, and they are a new political org focused on achieving open carry in Texas.

There isn't much to know about them yet, since they are just forming, but you might want to check it out. Currently membership is free and there are no benefits, but the longer their membership list is, the more pull they have.
