I carry an SR9c but my wife wants it so i'm thinking of upgrading to a 45 of some sort. I shoot my 45 xdm extremely well but it's like carrying a boat anchor. I definitely want to go bigger, maybe a .40.Shinesintx wrote:I agree and good assessment.JALLEN wrote:That's not the worst outcome by any means.Yep, me too! The shooter in that situation didn't really get a solid hit on either of them, tough to do with any caliber because once the shooting started, they were all over themselves getting out of there. I imagine the pre-op briefing didn't cover the possibility of a crazy old man shooting at them.
On a side note, not that you accused me, but I started this thread to if if some had changed their mind as to what they carry. It was not to start another caliber war...it was purely to see if anyone was second guessing themselves like I was. I am getting close to selling a P220 to fund a Kimber Solo or CW 45...maybe both?

I carry a Taurus, 3 inch chamber, 3 inch barrel, Judge. I am comfortable with it and because of my frame I do not print with it while it is in my ACE shoulder holster. My rounds would not have penetrated his ballistic vest, but 200gr hollow point smacking into him would have made his shoulders touch. So no I am not even thinking about changing my caliber. An old Army SGM told me a long time ago, never go into combat with something that doesn't start with a 4 and I firmly believe in that to this day.
The great men and ladies that have been there and done that don't need a T shirt, they show it in their eyes and their hearts.
