It is up to canons of statutory interpretation to determine the meaning. Since they are attached to one structure, they could be considered one sign. Same with attached to the building. I will be when they apply for a permit to put up signage, they only get one permit no matter how many seperate letters they have for the 'sign'.
I find your choice of plural pronouns ironic.
Good observation. You passed my test. :biggrinjester:
Typically, the smaller signs mounted to the face of the larger sign are called plaques. For the sign tree, who knows what they're called. Since "Sign" is not defined in the code, and nobody thought it important to define it, I would think "split" plaques are fine.

Wow! Great find the texan! Thanks for sharing. :tiphat:

"The Texas Constitution retained the power of common law development in the courts. Texas was never a British colony or an American territory, and the common law came to Texas by adoption rather than by inheritance.....Therefore, the common law of Texas is somewhat unique in origin, and its development has not in all respects coincided with the general course of evolution discernible throughout the United States. "

In all honesty, I did not read all 96 pages but skimmed as quickly as these old eyes would allow. This reaffirms my belief in my decision(as my 5th grade teacher incorrectly predicted), not to explore that avocation when my maturity level evolved, and that I would never achieve the honored position of a Texas lawyer. But to those that have achieved that lofty goal, my hats off to you. :tiphat:
