I agree, that particular debate is inconsequential because it involves private business options using their own money to install safety measures vs my concern over government controls using taxpayer dollars and affecting rights. Employees don't have the same rights to expect something from their employer, they can work somewhere else if they aren't satisfied with conditions. We have a built in structure meant to preserve our rights and we need to take advantage of that.

And you chose to be a part of it, yes?
I believe there is safety in numbers..
numbers like: 9, .22, .38, .357, .45, .223, 5.56, 7.62, 6.5, .30-06...

You got what you wanted. Metal detectors, xray machines, extra staffing etc etc etc
Be happy .

06nop: Great link, thanks. At least some in Austin are able to use common sense.

Tongue in cheek, I hope!
Absolutely! I should have added a smiley face.

"Appropriate procedures" would be auctioning off the machinery and putting the money toward speeding up CHL applications.

As it stands, they might as well just issue some neon red ball caps with "I HAVE A GUN" written on all sides.

CHL's will not be identified as such, according to preliminary procedures under consideration. It is likely they will enter just like Capitol staff simply by showing their CHL.
