Aside from this forum, only two people even know I applied for a CHL or know I’ve received it. Although I am very proud to have received it and I would love to shout it from the roof tops, I’m not going to let anyone know I’m armed. I don’t even want to put my NRA / TSRA stickers on my vehicle just in case someone with road rage might call 911 and say I pointed a weapon at them. Paranoid? Probably, but for me and my life, the weapon is a secret.

Each of us on the board has a particular set of employers/
friends/relatives/neighbors. I think it's great that some of
your bosses carry and feel fine with you carrying.

My CHL is pretty much a secret. There are only a handful of
people that know I have a CHL and carry 24/7, where legal.

I would like to be more "out there" with more folks so that I
too could be an ambassador, but my employer doesn't allow
carry (I do all the time anyway!) and I carry at church too,
which would probably 30.06 itself if my gun became common
knowledge.

There is one gal I know at church who has her CHL and has
.38 snubbies in most rooms of her house. She knows I have
my CHL and carry at church. She feels it's "not right" to carry
at church, although I have told her a few times she needs to
slip one of those Smiths into her purse.

She is very open about having a CHL. She hasn't outed me to others, but
I worried about it for a while.

This forum is great because all of us who want to keep mum about
our CHL's and guns can come here and chat about anything.

I like to keep the "surprise" in "surprise_i'm_armed." :-)

I don't understand "it's not right to carry at church."

What comes to my mind about that would also make it not right to have a lightning rod on the church.

...or as someone asked in another thread somewhere, "...why do you lock up your vehicle in the church parking lot..."?

I dont think I would wear a shirt that says " I have my CHL" and I wouldnt walk up to a complete stranger and tell them im carrying, but I also help teach CHL classes and solicate friends and associates to take the class as well.. in doing so, there is little question as to my status.
