Very remote. Part of the work I do involves building/repairing/hanging microwave receive and transmission sites. I do lot of work on very remote hilltops, which in and of itself is not bad. The danger is that some of these sites house or are adjacent to DEA, FBI and Homeland Security microwave equipment. The guys in my line of work are on high alert as these could be targeted sites by Cartel and smugglers. I don't want to be 90 miles from civilization working by myself if some smugglers decide that they are going to take the microwaves off-line for a couple of hours. Not good. I am not in the business of protecting anyone's gear, but I would like to save my own skin if possible.

At times, I have felt he same way, but it's usually when I'm in the shower. "rlol"

None of those states reciprocate with TX CHLs, so I did not even pack a firearm.
A lot of our stops were in deserted remote areas. I felt very exposed

Nice country, but I was relieved to get back in Texas

I'm kinda curious and just asking, but why didn't you have 'something' close to hand?

There are lots of c oncealment options available. 'Baggies' , (not 'saggin), are back in style, Birami Hip Grips are still available, un-tucked in shirt tails are common, and there are LOTS of electronic gear worn on the belt so a bulge/bump around the waist should't give cause for bump frisk.

Drive 65 MPH on Route 66, and don't misbehave. Barking at the moon may still be fun, but restraint is the order of the day.

Most likely, if she or I were ever charged, it'd be after a needful reponse to an unlawfel event.

At least we'd would be able to address the court rather than wake up on the wrong side of the dirt.

Yeah I have that "naked" feeling when I am not carrying in public now too.

I have been body carrying since 9-11, but not in the house. When away from the house, I do feel defenseless if not carrying.

I agree.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

I just carry my cane and a good lockback pocket knife and follow Coppers rules of awareness. Plus I carry pepper spray. :fire I understand the feeling you have being unarmed. But the truth is if your using your brain and think out side of the box you are armed. I love what a Ole marine told me: "Be Polite to everyone you meet and have a plan to kill them."
I 'm just an Ole Sinner saved by Grace and Smith & Wesson.
