VERY VERY seldom will you ever see the indictment of a juvenile for a capital crime.
Even though this kid will be tried as an adult (i assume)... the DA will probably have a FAR easier time getting a conviction for a 1st degree felony vs. a Capital felony on a 16 year old.
Putting the needle to someone that will undoubtedly be portrayed by the family and the press as a "mis-guided youth" would be a hard pill for the public to swallow. Never mind the fact that nowadays many underage gang members are hardcore murders and thieves by the time they are 16.

In other news, a few days ago a store near Beltway 8 south and I-45, run by a friend of the family, got robbed by two armed BGs. The friend of the family had just left the store when the BGs came in.
