^ That seemed to be the sense I got as well. From what I read before traveling through quite a few reservations it seemed like they could take your gun since they don't recognize State issued CHLs and hold it until you meet with their council and pay a fine (some just keep "forfeited" weapons).

Anytime I'm about to cross into a reservation I stop, unload and bury the weapons with the luggage. Not ideal but better than having my gun legally stripped from me on a US highway.
