Where is Mas speaking? Do you have to be an attorney to attend CLE?Charles L. Cotton wrote: I'll give you the last word, then you're gone. Oh yeah, the next time you see Mas, tell him I said hello. Actually, I'll see him again next month when we are speaking at a Texas CLE program.

In Dallas on Sept. 18th. I don't think you have to be an attorney, but it's pretty expensive. Mas and I are just two of several speakers, so it may not be what you want.TXBO wrote:Where is Mas speaking? Do you have to be an attorney to attend CLE?Charles L. No probably not but thank you. I've never had the pleasure of hearing him speak in person. It's on my bucket list.Charles L. Cotton wrote:In Dallas on Sept. 18th. CLE = Continuing Legal Education, right? To maintain Texas law license you have to have so many hours/time period IRRC.Charles L. Cotton wrote:In Dallas on Sept. 18th. Re: Upcoming Law of Self Defense seminars
I attended the seminar today in Garland at the Bass Pro shop store. Mr. Branca presented material specific to the Texas force and deadly force laws with an angle toward those who concealed carry. His focus on the five principles that can help you should you need to defend yourself; innocence, imminence, proportionality, avoidance, and reasonableness, are hammered home so they form the basis of your decision making. Not that you want all of them running through your head should something happen that you need to react immediately to, but to help you with forming the reasons why you did what you did when it comes to explaining the situation you found yourself in.
Questions were welcomed and 'what ifs' were addressed when brought up by the attendees. Comparisons of Texas law against other states was mentioned when obvious differences were present. All in all it's another great tool for the toolbox when it comes to evaluating potential situations. Well worth the $99 price.
