Do i have to show LEO my CHL during a traffic stop

If carrying you must show your CHL when asked for ID. As stated, it is a good idea to show it no matter.

GC §411.205. REQUIREMENT TO DISPLAY LICENSE. (a) If a license holder is carrying a handgun on or about the license holder's person when a magistrate or a peace officer demands that the license holder display identification, the license holder shall display both the license holder's driver's license or identification certificate issued by the department and the license holder's handgun license.

Now, had you gotten in trouble with the officer for not showing your CHL, there is no longer a penalty if you fail to show it. However, it is still the law that you must produce it.

That clears that up for me as well, thanks.

Same here. I always hand it to them with my DL, but misunderstood the law. Thanks for the clarification.

I would show it even when not armed cause once they run your DL it will show that you have a CHL anyway.
