I think you did good. Especially for a 1st post. Welcome. Does anyone know if this is Hyundai corporate policy or decided by their individual dealerships?Scotth220 wrote:Hub hyndai in Houston has a notice about no concealed carry. Informed the manager that I will not be purchasing a car from them and walked out...
Of course that was after I showed him my approval paperwork from the bank. He was not happy.. He was trying everything to get me back in the building.. Told him I would, but since I am carrying, I don't want to break their rules. Bye...
My wife needs a new car, and we were actually going to look at a Genesis sedan. This will make a difference where we look / spend money.

Re: Hub hyndai
I've had/have several Hyundai's from several dealerships in East Texas and in the DFW megaplex - never saw a 30.06 posting either where we bought or where we have serviced. Some red slash / no guns but never a formal sign. I would like to have the OP come back on line to describe what it was they saw. Does anyone live in west Houston that can see what the dealership has posted? How did the OP get to the point of showing a manager the pre-approval, bypassing a salesperson, and get inside the building, without seeing the 30.06 sign at the entrance?gemini wrote:Does anyone know if this is Hyundai corporate policy or decided by their individual dealerships?

As far as purchasing a Hyundai - we have had them since 1992 (Excel) up to the present Santa Fe. No significant problems at all and every issue was always quickly taken care of. The resale value long term is sketchy but the way to make the Hyundai pay off is to drive it as long as possible and treat it like a disposable car.

Note that the offense occurs when one "intentionally fails to conceal the handgun". It says nothing about intentionally failing to conceal the fact that you have a handgun.PC §46.035. UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF HANDGUN BY LICENSE
HOLDER. (a) A license holder commits an offense if the license
holder carries a handgun on or about the license holder's person
under the authority of Subchapter H, Chapter 411, Government Code,
and intentionally fails to conceal the handgun.

Just make sure that you only give them out to businesses that are putting up compliant signs.

I bet that gun show was posted 30.06, while I bet that Hyundai dealership wasn't. I wonder why so many members are fine with 30.06 posted gun shows while they gripe about a Chuck E. Cheese with a gunbuster sign.Teamless wrote:You can buy them from TSRAgemini wrote:Classic. Will be printing these when I get my plastic

Re: Hub hyndai
That's where we disagree. These card's do not inform the business that their signs are not compliant. So I think should be no problem handing them out to businesses with gun busters.Embalmo wrote:Just make sure that you only give them out to businesses that are putting up compliant signs.
It will let them know that they are losing business from those of us who choose to not shop there. And it will can only help reinforce the wrongheaded idea that the signs, even though we know they are not legally binding, do keep the unwanted guns out. Then those CHL holders, who like Embalmo, choose to shop anyway can continue to do so without any interference.
Everybody wins. You can continue to shop and we can continue to let them know they are losing our business.

I am not happy at all with posted gun shows, especially as the ones I go to are at city buildings ---- and NO I am not willing to be a test case.Embalmo wrote: I wonder why so many members are fine with 30.06 posted gun shows
I do not like disarming and going to gun shows, however, when I have saved over $100 on a $500 weapon, I work hard for my money and am not going to pay $100 more at the local store, whether it be Academy or The Arms Room. I will disarm and buy the weapon.
This is the one location however that I will patronize that has a 30.06. I won't go to any others, unless I have no other choice - yes, i drive my wife nuts as she has heard this from me as well...
Those that see the gunbuster signs and have issues, I cant comment on, as I see them and walk right past, as they do not pertain to me.

Re: Hub hyndai
I'm not saying you can't do what you want-It's just that those cards cost money to produce, so why waste them on businesses who allow legal carry? Kinda' like paying for medicine when you're not sick. I'm not sure that the OP knows that 30.06 are the only signs that matter. I wouldn't want anyone to get false information.terryg wrote:That's where we disagree. These card's do not inform the business that their signs are not compliant. Re: Hub hyndai
Texas 3006 forum lists Hub Mitsubishi. May be same location as Hub Hyundi? Texas 3006 say Hub Mitsubishi has a sign on the front door but the letters are too small and has the old wording therefore not valid. Cocealed is concealed - if you want a car bad enough from them I wouldn't say anything if they have an invalid sign.

Re: Hub hyndai
It was not a proper30.06 sign, but I was not going to tell them and allow them to post a proper one to possibly later use against a chl holder.
Needless to say, the wife is not happy about these actions at all... She really loves the new Sonota.
This of course is the closest dealership to the house.
