The Law does not state that driving around town is NOT traveling, nor does it state you must stay overnight. It just gives the 5 items that must be present to be presumed traveling. I could drive next door for a cup of milk and still be traveling by these 5 items.Cofmatt wrote:[
Police officers I have asked say that if you are going somewhere outside of your city overnight that "should" be legal travel.. Driving around town is not.
NON-CHL travel in Texas, can they bring a gun in hotel room?

I've been on the receiving end of that treatment, though not for a long time, and not in Texas.HankB wrote:RE: Harris County . . . according to a past issue of the TSRA magazine, some LEOs in the area question people they stop about where they're going, how they plan to get there, etc.
I think it's unofficial police practice for figuring out whether someone is minding his own business versus cruising around looking for drugs or trouble, or acts nervous.
You do have the right to remain silent, though if you're receiving that treatment, you're close to being in trouble.
