I've carried a couple times in the unsecured areas of El Paso International. One visit, an Alsatian Police dog "noticed" me each time he and his partner walked past. The officer just nodded at me and walked on. (I'm sure he recognized the fannypack I was using.) No problem.Hickeroar wrote:From what I understood, You can't carry on the premises of an airport. (premises meaning inside any building). Isn't that what it says right in the CHL manual or am I missing something?nitrogen wrote:OK, so basically there's no state law banning carry in the unsecured area of an airport.
That's what I thought. Thanks.

All guns have at least two safeties. One's digital, one's cognitive. In other words - keep the digit off the trigger until ready to fire, and THINK. Some guns also have mechanical safeties on top of those. But if the first two don't work, the mechanical ones aren't guaranteed. - me

Well, I took the pic of the Love Field sign, and of course I didn't bring the cable to don load it with me. And my stay has changed from coming back tonight to coming back tomorrow (I'm glad I packed socks, underwear, toothpaste, and a razor) so I won't be able to show it until tomorrow night sometime.

OK, here's the sign at Love Field.
It is NOT posted on every entry, it makes improper reference to the law, and if you are in a hurry it may not be real visible (I had to stand at an angle to make the pic work.)
After this Wright Amendment flap calms down, I will go on a new letter writing campaign. I figure, if nothing else, that the City of Dallas has pretty much acknowledged that the airport is city property, and that would make a good case for pre-emption.
