I have to say that I support this effort by Ms. Tripp and Charles (and the rest of TSRA). The TSRA is one of the organizations I trust and will do my best to help when I can. I cannot help int his case because I am just starting the CHL process (finally), but I urge anyone who had a documented delay from DPS to let one of these two know.

Re: Delays in Receiving a TX CHL - anybody get this email
I am more than happy to provide my info...that is if it takes longer than the specified 60 days. Just reading the comments in the waiting room, it seems they are interpreting the time frame different than us. The law does state from when they receive the documents, which can be proven by the date they cash the check...which is darned quick. They seem to believe the time frame is from when they "CLAIM" they are processing the documents. The whole thing is off base somehow.

Yeah but AOL is awful, Although it was quite a while ago I put blocks on my email program to delete anything from AOL because of "make money fast scams", I think they are still there. Domains and and email servers are very cheap these days, and using AOL makes such a negative impression.srothstein wrote:I have to say that I support this effort by Ms. Tripp and Charles (and the rest of TSRA). That is an excellent idea.Charles L. Cotton wrote:I'm so used to using Alice's AOL email address, I never gave it a thought that it might look strange to people who were not used to seeing it. I think I'll offer her an email address at TexasShooting.com or TexasCHLforum.com. Af for the TSRA server, we all hope that's taken care of soon.

Re: Delays in Receiving a TX CHL - anybody get this email
I believe it shows great character, and observations by the membership (here) with the concerns about the validity of the request and who some have or have not been sending this proprietary information too...
I went, just to be sure, and checked Alice's email address and it came right up and on the money...I'll add my voucher (for what its worth) for the validity of the email address and the effort here to collect this information, so that we can really see if there are some probelms with the system that we can streamline, or make more cost effective...
This concern has been going on for years, and it is cyclic in nature...We have had times where the turn around is really efficient and fast, and other times where it crawls, and we have major delays in processing initial and renewal licenses...
I made a suggestion years ago, that if there was some part of the process where a few of us dedicated citizens could help out and participate in a part of the system that did not require much in official training, certification or of course investigations...Any of those that required access to proprietary databases or information, of course that would not be something some of us should get into...But if there was some paper pushing, grunt work that could be done, I asked the Austin CHL office if there was something like that some of us could do...But that got squashed for some reason...I know why, but it's not important now...
I was told that the Austin office does hire, or staff some college students to do some of the work processing the packets coming in and other sundry work...So at that time I was kinda
as to why if they were having problems getting all of this taken care of, why they resisted any suggestions for help...
Maybe now some cooler heads will prevail, and we can "fire drill" this thing and get it under control before we start having more problems...
But what do I know, right???![Wink ;-)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)
