well thanks, but I'm nobody to them, just a little old customer. I like to think they saw the logic though :) I think i'm gonna make a youtube video and give them some positive word of mouth press.

LedJedi,

Can you give us a link or contact where we should be sending letters commending their response? I'm fairly happy with Tmobile, but it wouldn't hurt for me to send them a letter saying that I might switch to Verizon ;-)

Unbelievable.

Getting a corporate giant to actually do the right thing is just short of miraculous. Very well done, sir! :cheers2: This was a victory not just for CHL holders, but for all citizens concerned with 2A rights.

I use Sprint nowadays, but I promise I'll switch to Verizon when my contract is up and I will let Verizon know why I'm switching to them.

I just sent the following email to Lowell McAdam, President and CEO of Verizon.
Mr. McAdam,

It has recently come to my attention that Verizon has a company policy prohibiting all Verizon stores in Texas from posting signs barring holders of concealed handgun licenses from their premises (commonly referred to as 30.06 signs).

I would like to thank you for this policy. As a CHL holder and law abiding citizen, I feel strongly about exercising my rights under the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution.

I am currently a Verizon FIOS customer and will remain so, and will encourage my friends and family to also become Verizon customers.

It is truly refreshing to see a large corporation issue this type of policy and respect the rights of all citizens to provide for their safety and the safety of others.

I realize you usually receive only letters of complaint. While I feel strongly about complaining when necessary, I also feel praise should be given where due. This is certainly one of the times such praise is due.

Thank you,

Good job. It's downright shocking in this day and age that a major telecom would stand up for an individual's right. I bet the anti who ran that store is looking for a new job now. Maybe Taco Cabana is hiring.

That's really great, now if they would just give the same courtesy to their employees. It's against company policy for Verizon employees, even CHL's to bring firearms to work even if they leave them in their vehicles. If you do it's immediate dismissal. Employees are also customers, so they don't seem to care about them.

Maybe when you write your letters thanking them, you could then ask them to please change the no guns policy they have for their employees. With that policy in place, an employee cannot leave the house with their firearm because it would have to be left in the vehicle on company property.

Great news. I'm a verizon user and will be sure to write them a letter of appreciation and thanks for supporting 2A.

LedJedi wrote:wow. i have one heck of an update on this....

I just got a phone call a few minutes ago from the assistant to the VP of Verizon. She called to personally thank me for bringing the facts involved with that signage to their attention and to say that Verizon now has a company policy in place specifically barring any of their stores in Texas from posting those signs and that the sign I mentioned has been removed.

I was completely floored.... i mean completely.

I guess sometimes the good guy does win and sometimes large corporations are human afterall.

you guys please join me in emailing the corporate office folks listed above and thanking them for the clarity and good judgment in their policy. It's important to point out mistakes but it's even more important to point out when someone makes the right call.
BRAVO! Kudos to you for taking a stand and kudos to Verizon for stepping up as well! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Hey, thanks for that article Stevie.

I'm thinking about writing up a freelance article on Verizon's recent decision that would involve me calling back that VP assistant for an interview. I'll be sure and throw in a few questions about that article. It was very educational. :)
