Ignorance of the law is never an excuse, CHL or not.

Why would it not be worth it to have your CHL? Concealed carry without a permit is only allowed in your home, car and directly between those places. Without a CHL, you're illegal when you go shopping, to church, or anywhere else carrying. I think that was a sheep statement, and coming from someone who probably has a gun and expects to use it to defend themselves, that's even more disappointing.

Actually, it's to the car, but not from the car (or the other way around?)
So at some point between car and house you might be illegal.
To be safe, you need to open carry on your own property if you don't have a CHL.
Keeps the neighbors respectful too  (Is there an extra-large smiley available??)

There is no cause to "be safe" and open carry on your own property. In fact, the law is clear that any carry is legal on your own property.

If you were being sarcastic towards the OP I just wasn't sure, and in that case, sorry. ;)

it all sounds like good advice to me, except for the statement made about the police convicting someone.... I don't think that's an accurate point.
It's not gun control that we need, it's soul control!

One said his son was arrested for smoking a joint in his home. He said he didn't know it was illegal if it wasn't in public. That's why his father was having to visit him in jail (or at least part of the reason)........
How did the cops find out say they could arrest him? :?:

So, there is a "situation" and his wife needs to use the pistol. If she uses it she is also proving that she is illegally carrying a concealed handgun.
While it maybe legal to carry in one's car, there's no case law saying one can conceal it on herself while even just standing at a gas pump.

fwiw, there are too many places where a CHL is quite simply required if one wants to maintain the level of optimum security discreetly.
