This was based on the fact that alcohol was being served on-site and they had no intention of allowing guns and alcohol to mix.
Some people don't realize that not everyone at a place that serves alcohol will partake in drinking the nectar of the gods.
If they won't budge, neither should we. Keep those complaints going to the AG, let him fine the county $10k/day.
The signs are not enforceable either way.
Agreed.
The Rodeo is rich with cash. It's also run by a bunch of political muckety mucks who would be happy to either make it a fight or pay the money.
Here they are, with the stated purpose of raising money for kids' scholarships, yet they see $10K/day as "money well spent" on illegal signage.
The funny thing is, the cash will come from the county, not the Rodeo. The county would then have to fine the Rodeo for continuing with the unenforceable signs.
I have a friend who is one of the Directors (there are like 12 Directors in all) and he said he was just leaving it to the "legal committee". I told him the legal committee was way off base on this one, and they were wrong.
The whole thing is a mess now too. Getting in the BBQ was a nightmare. These mindless zombies with their wands who have no idea what they're doing are bogging down the entrance, and those of us licensed, are unable to carry without at least a fight on our hands.
I had to park quite far on Saturday night, and I was NOT happy that I was 'forced' to walk exposed and unable to defend myself when arriving and leaving the BBQ. This had better get 'fixed' before next year!
