Does a DUI mean the loss of your CHL if you were not in possession of your firearm at the time of the infraction?

By the way.......I don't plan to ever find out!! :cheers2:

Yes, you would lose your CHL.

DWI is classified as at least a Class B misdemeanor, and you are ineligible for a license for five years after a conviction for a Class A or Class B misdemeanor.

For the purpose of determining eligibility, a conviction includes those that were dismissed after you completed probation or deferred adjudication.

keep in mind, if you are arrested for DWI and have a handgun in the car, you will probably be charged with Class A unlawful carry of a weapon.

Additionally, you cannot get deferred for a DWI conviction in texas
