fingerprint card question

#1

Post by omegadeluz77 »

I got my fingerprint cards done at my local police dept. I just noticed they did not fill out the information under "Contributing Agency" and "City/State" or "DPS NO. (SID)" next to my name. He did sign both cards and my photos with name and a number(badge number, I guess). Should I just fill in the blanks with the info.(Mission Police Department, address, etc.)? I also don't know what I should put in the blanks for "Race", "ETH." and "CITZ." I am a U.S. Citizen of Hispanic descent. I don't know what abbreviations to put in the blanks. Also for hair and eye color is "BR" the abbreviation for brown? I know it's a lot of questions but I want to make sure it is done right as to not delay my application. Thanks in advance for your help!

For the record, any sharpness inferred in my reply wasn't intended. Just trying to help keep the discussion in a single thread to avoid confusion, and I have a bad habit of not using enough words to adequately convey tone.

Where are my manners? I forgot to introduce myself. I am Joe Botello and live in Mission, TX. I hoped to mail out my application tonight but I couldn't find a felt tipped pen so I made a late night run to HEB to get one. I want to by extra cautious in filling out everything correctly to avoid any delays the already lengthly process. Could someone please respond to my questions since the previous post was deleted? I appreciate everyone's help.

Thanks,
Joe B.

Good Morning 77 and welcome to the forum.
Yes you can put in that it was the Mission PD, leave blank DPS NO. and ETH., for race put a W ( we only use B's and W's ) for Citz. put USA, either BRO. or BRN. will work for brown, on the blue FBI card your CHL # will go where it says OCA and on the DPS card the CHL # goes to the right of APPLICANT so that it reads APPLICANT #XXXXXXXX.

If you need help on anything else just ask. We are here to help, support, and learn from each other.

That's good info. Should it go in the sticky "Checklist" thread?

Thanks for the advice. I mailed my package off this morning. The lady at the post office gave me a strange look when I asked her to PLEASE MAKE SURE the package was sent. This forum is a great help and I hope to contribute as I gain experience.
