Yes, live person... you get a recording to start...but they have live people who have always been very pleasant and professional to me.

As mentined in other threads, I am expecting a denial due to other issues.

Initial application was mailed on Jan. 3. Missed a date on a previous address and that part of the application was sent back to me. The completed part was mailed back on Feb. 14. The 41 days between initial submition and return for completion was my fault. I figured that the clock would start over.

If the clock does start over then it has been 53 days. I do have to allow a couple of days for transit time.

With luck I should see wither my CHL or denial letter by Christmas.

P.S.
Those of you that called, how did you get a live person to speak with?

Mailed it on August 4. DPS received it on the morning of August 5. Got the permit in the mail yesterday, October 13. That's 68 days, 48 business days by my count for a first time application.

Looks like they are getting into a good rythm these days...

Glad to see everyone getting these licenses in a relatively timely manner...

Somebody must be cracking a whip over there...

Received in Austin: 14 Sep
Pic returned for signature: 26 Sep; returned the next day to complete app
PIN received: 17 Oct
Completed: 4 Nov

So, excluding my own screwup, ~36 days from time to completed application to issuance isn't too terribly bad.

Just logged on to DPS website and found out (application complete, certificate active. I thought it went real smooth and real fast. Was expecting the 60 day mark. Now how long will it be in the mail. Any guesses out there?

Keltec...

Somebody else is in the same pattern with you today...

It shouldn't be that much longer...

They commented on the "pin number" thread down the way there...

UNBLVR,

What day did you submit?

Thanks.
