At home: Large flat screen, high quality T.V., Netflix and Dish Satellite selections, high quality sound system, all capable of being paused so you may get something to eat, or whatever. And, no strangers to bother you.

Vs. A larger screen at a movie theatre, a bit better sound, with no chance to pause for a break, people speaking at high volume as if they're in their own living room and feel privileged to push the back of your seat to exercise their knees, cough without covering their virus infected mouths. Plus, you have the added inconvenience of driving to get there and pay for the privilege to get in. Blech! And that's just a few of the reasons you couldn't pay me to go to a movie theatre.

I'm surprised movie theatre's still exist.

If an officer were called, would he have a tape measure on hand to measure the letters and would he even try? Though the AMC theater nearby uses a tiny 6" x 8" sign on their doors, I do not grace them with my money. I have found a theater with good quality and quieter audiences with just a 20 minuite drive to a smaller town. Oh, I almost forgot, I passed the word around to my friends, and they now take their familes to the other theater too.

I prefer Cinemark or Star Cinema Grill, neither of which have any kind of attempt at a 30.06 posting. AMC is over priced and the one in First Colony was rather dumpy looking despite the steep ticket prices.

With young children we don't get a chance to go to the movies much anyways and I'm to the point I'd just assume watch a movie on our own TV.

Cinemark-Rosenberg is where we all go now. It is a bit of a drive, but it is comfortable, they treat us like valued customers, and their parking lot has better lighting.

Same here. I'm fortunate in that it is also the closest theater. Plus there's a dollar tree in the shopping center next door where you can load up on cheap treats.

Exactly. And furthermore, if you want a bigger screen and better sound, it doesn't cost that much to install a projector and a sound system. If you have enough room in your house you can probably sit close enough so that the apparent size of the screen is the same as it would be sitting in the middle or back of the theater. I used to do the home theater set up but since we moved I'm just as happy with a 55" flat screen.....though when the prices come down a little more I might go for a 70".

I did not shed a single tear when they left though the 59 Diner in its place isn't much better.

The new Bandito's Taco place next to the Exxon station on 762 is pretty good if you're looking for a pre-movie lunch or dinner.

I prefer the local drive in $6 for a double feature, plus you're covered by the MPA.

The only advantage theaters have going for them is new releases. Most stuff I can wait till it comes out on blu ray but there's a few movies a year I go see at the theater just because I get impatient.

I remember going to an AMC theatre here in San Antonio, Texas in the Huebner Oak shopping center (Before it became Regal) and I remember me taking a picture of a dollar bill with the sign to show the size of it. It was in the bottom of the corner and barely visible. Also, the sign was a transparent sticker. It was not even close to being a valid sign. It now became a Regal theater and the sign is non existent. Thank the heavens.

Regardless, I enjoy movies. I enjoy going to them and rarely have any type of bad experience as some of you claim. I don't know if I'm just very tolerant of people (Though I can't really name a single time where anyone has annoyed me) or if me working retail for numerous years has calloused me, but I will continue to go to them - AMC or not.

I do see some of your point of views, and completely understand why you don't support 'em. I'm just.. young. Nuff said?

Can't wait to see Guardians of the Galaxy!

Hey watch it pal, I'm just a few years older than you. There are just other things I'd rather spend money on and going to a movie without children is a rare luxury indeed these days.

People bringing their ill behaved children is why I stopped going to public movie theaters.
