ANOTHER RESTAURANT IMPROPERLY POSTED 51%--RESOLVED

#1

Post by CWOOD »

The new location of the CRAWFISH SHACK AND OYSTER BAR in South Austin in Southpark Meadows recently opened. They have another location in North Austin.

The new location is posted with two 51% sign, one in English and one in Spanish.

Here is their online license info:

License #: MB861103

Trade Name: CRAWFISH SHACK & OYSTER BAR
Owner: HIHU INVESTMENTS LLC
Location Address:
9500 IH 35 SOUTH BUILDING C
AUSTIN , TX 78748
Mailing Address:
2855 ANGELINA DR
ROUND ROCK , TX 78665
County: Travis Orig. Issue Date: 1/9/2014
Status: Current Exp. Date: 1/8/2016
Wine Percent:
Location Phone No.: 361-232-9083
Subordinates: LB
Related To: Gun Sign: BLUE

I am assuming that this is a result of the confusion of start up. I left and voice mail and sent an email to the District Office Supervisor of Licensing at TABC. I will post his response as it arrives.

My wife and I were walking up to the front door as we saw the sign. It didn't look correct but I went back to the vehicle to disarm before entering. We ordered food and I went to inspect the license and as I suspected it said SIGN=BLUE. Went back to the vehicle to re-arm and went back in. Good food and reasonable prices. We just got Poboys so I cannot evaluate the rest of the menu.

cwood,

Thank you for your phone call and your email. Thank you also for the permit number.
You are indeed correct, they should have a different sign and I will get this corrected.

Best regards,

Every Time I've dealt with the TABC, they have been nothing short of great.
Always willing to listen, take down the information, and thank you for providing it.

10/10 would call again.

SITUATION RESOLVED!

My letter to TABC official:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mr. Jordan,

Yesterday was the first opportunity to revisit the Crawfish Shack location we discussed earlier. I am very pleased to report that the appropriate "unlicensed possession" signs have replaced the incorrect "51%" signs at their entrance.

I thank you for you follow-up in this matter.

I compliment you on your courteous and prompt response to this matter. It is an example of excellent public service which I have happily shared with others, including members of http://www.TexasCHLforum.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

Regards.

Mr Jordan's reply:

Thank you! Thank you for reporting our oversight so we could get this corrected! I reported this to our Audit Supervisor, Josh Alexander, who had the correct sign posted at the location.

Not knowing the location or their view on firearms but it sounds like it was a misunderstanding on signage and its good to see it cleared up. Its nice to see that TABC took care of it.
