Re: 911 call
I think it is about 6 minutes long. The 911 operator tells her to hide. The lady is crying and the perp finally breaks down the door to her bedroom and she "stops" him.
(I have an "anti" asking me why I have a gun. I want to play that 911 call)

Re: 911 call
It's a female and I really want her to hear that call. I have made my case but need her to hear a dose of reality.
She still thinks I am "paranoid"
I want her to hear first hand.

Re: 911 call
It was a sticky at one time. I don't think the lady survived if it is the same one I'm thinking of.

Re: 911 call
I am not sure I got through but she was visibly moved.
If nothing else, she has something to think about.
That poor lady shouting "oh my God!" at the end made her think a little.
Thanks again mojo84.

I just don't understand the victim mentality. Hopefully her eyes have been opened.

I think it is because, deep inside, most people truly believe things like this will never happen to them.jmra wrote:I just don't understand the victim mentality. Hopefully her eyes have been opened.

Thank you for taking the time to share a bit of reality with her. I deal with this often. I wonder if they think their husbands/boyfriends will protect them.AustinBoy wrote:I am not sure I got through but she was visibly moved.

I've been watching Panic 911 the show. It displays the length of the 911 call until police/fire arrive. So much can happen in those precious few first minutes.
If you have a copy of The Gift of Fear, see if she is willing to read it.
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

Re: 911 call
is your female young? sometimes they just haven't had things happen to them....haven't yet been alone in a dark WalMart parking lot with a creepy guy.
Thing is, they don't realize....back in the late 90's? maybe early 2000's a young woman was taken at knife point from the then brand new Round Rock Target in the middle of the day! or how about the creepy guy, oooh early 2000's who caused me to explain to my young children why I wouldn't leave them alone in the children's area in our favorite bookstore anymore while I scanned for men in trench coats (again that incident happened in the middle of the day).
What I'm trying to say is that maybe of the younger ones, or even older that "younger", seem to think that "bad things only happen if you're alone in the dark, or in bad places". But they can happen in the middle of the day, and they can happen in any parking lot, in any store, and as she heard, in your own home.
