Re: Chamber or No Chamber
I get that this question gets brought up all the time...and it used to annoy me too...
But serious...this is the internet. What ELSE do we have to do? Might as well talk about it.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. - Thomas Edison
Re: Chamber or No Chamber
yes, perhaps a FAQ would prevent the repeated asks for the same query. My apologies..
maybe I should change the title to "decocked or not for SA/DA carriers" as I guess that's really my root issue it seems...

Interesting, but I would never recommend an after-market safety.The Annoyed Man wrote:Interesting apropos article: http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2013 ... ck-safety/
I just noticed that you can pre-order the safety, but it won't be available for shipment until 1st QTR 2014 ETA. Danger, Will Robinson!

IMHO, that thing is going to get somebody killed. Either it will fail to work when someone points the gun in the wrong direction and pulls the trigger or when it engages and doesn't release when the gun is needed.

If you want a gun with a safety, then buy one that has a safety.03Lightningrocks wrote:IMHO, that thing is going to get somebody killed. I keep telling the Glockistas that, but they won't listen.WildBill wrote:If you want a gun with a safety, then buy one that has a safety.03Lightningrocks wrote:IMHO, that thing is going to get somebody killed. Re: Chamber or No Chamber
For real story. I saw a guy at the range with a Sig. He kept holding the hammer as he pushed down the decocker. I couldn't resist. I said, why you doing that. he said it was because he didn't like how the hammer would fall down when he pushed the decocker. I told him it was designed to work that way and there is no way the pistol would fire. he first lied and claimed he has seen it happen. i said, really? When? He hesitated for a minute then said, I meant to say I have heard of it happening. I literally chuckled out loud and said Well OK then. I think he was scared of his own gun!
There are a lot of folks out there who don't get it when it comes to guns. They think the gun is just gonna up and fire itself if we don't "tie it's hands together".

There is no proof whatsoever that on average Glock owners experience more NDs than owners of any other brand. I have seen just as many examples of injuries with 1911s as I have Glocks despite the fact that Glocks see many more times the service hours on daily basis.
People do dumb things with all types of guns. There are probably more people shot by accident when cleaning a gun than any other type of accident.
