Hey, hey.....not always now....the car my company provides me is a Prius. I don't think a liberal has ever even ridden in it (if there are any liberals where I work, I've either never met them, or they've never let on what their politics are).

I'll be more clear. I picked on liberal bumper stickers but I wasn't just alluding to liberal bumper stickers. Let me put it in the form of a question....when I see someone making a political statement with a bumper sticker, I have to wonder why they feel the need to broadcast their politics and why they think they're going to influence anyone to understand or accept their beliefs? They've essentially drawn a line in the philosophical sand before a single word is exchanged. IOW, a bumper sticker seems to be a way of seeking attention, and I'm wary of people who are seeking attention.

When the bumper sticker is extraordinarily idiotic, like "Coexist," it's also a pretty good bet the person is a ideologue that is incapable of rational discussion. It the sticker expresses an idea I agree with, it doesn't change the nature of the person, but it increases the chances that I might get along with them. For instance, if a bumper sticker says "ban guns," I'm not likely to get along with them; but if it says Molon Labe, I probably will get along with them.

And I do make a distinction between bumper stickers and things like USMC stickers, NRA stickers, Police benevolent association stickers, etc., though I, for various reasons, would not attach one to my own vehicle.

I completely agree, thank you for clarifying. I, also for various reasons, also don't put NRA and other types of stickers on my vehicles - although when I was younger I did.

I'm pretty sure that if that had happened to me and she continued to preach from her soap box I'd give her the option to stop talking or get out and start beating feet. If she asked nicely I might even slow down for her to get out.

I disagree. There is no point in making yourself out to be the bad guy through your actions, only to justify her hysteria regarding "gun nuts". I think he did the honorable thing, and ensured none of his actions warranted her response to discovering his pistol. Remember, his friends set him up, so there is still some connection to this person, even if indirect.

What can I say, I'm not a gentleman when it comes to ignorant women. :D

I was in a similar situation two different times when single many years ago. Wanted to meet the girls for for quite some time. When finally on a formal date, I had my interest come to a screeching halt in less than an hour, thankfully, by conversation and the realization that we distinctly would never be compatible. She saved you a lot of time and money! Have a wonderful wife now who is thankful I take the responsibility for our safety with 2A rights.

Why not? It's rare, an individual, who will apologize for overreacting. Especially when she doesn't have to.
