I know I always do a double take on the Unlicensed... Signs. The OG on Alta Mere has the Unlicensed sign as well.

Hope it's not something they're going towards.
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

The 'Unlicensed possession' sign? They are required to post those by TABC. I also think they have one that is printed specifically for them to match their décor in the entry.

I am almost positive that it was valid. I am going to do a drive by to take a picture this week to verify. Is there a way to update that website?

Even if it's not valid, I can enter it on the website as an invalid sign.
I just refreshed my memory as to the verbiage of the sign, and come to think of it, I think it was NOT a valid sign at the Olive Garden. I am going to take a picture of it and enter it into the website.

I should have paid closer attention when I went there, and I wouldn't have had to leave my gun in the car.

I don't know, why businesses want to do that. If they don't post the signs, there is a chance they'll improve their bottom line. If they do post them, it's a sure thing that they will lose business. I know quite a few CHL holders, who are well to do and can make an impact for any business, who would avoid places even with invalid signs...
Did it look like this?

Texas 3006 is user-generated. You'll have to create an account in order to submit an entry. But the mod there has asked that people only post valid signs. So if it's an actual enforceable 30.06, then please add it.
Actually, we want any sign that is valid or not that is an attempt at a 30.06. We do NOT want gun buster signs, 'No Guns' signs, etc, only those that are 30.06 'like' signs. Also, 51% locations can be posted there.
Now I think that the sign at the Olive Garden was an attempt at a 30.06. It was a really nice plaque — marble looking with large contrasted letters, but the wording was off. I will verify it this week to be sure.

Saw this posted on another board. Olive Garden is a Darden property
Dear (2ACheck):
Our guests’ safety is our number one priority and we are committed to delighting all of our guests with an outstanding dining experience.
If a state or local government allows or does not specifically ban weapons (concealed and/or open) in restaurants that serve alcohol, we don’t ban them either. Even if businesses are allowed to “opt out” by posting signage indicating weapons are not allowed, we don’t believe in implementing procedures that conflict with what the state or local government intends. Our company has faced this situation in several cities and there haven’t been any issues from not posting an “opt out” sign.
We do not allow employees to carry weapons while working. However, if state or local laws allow employees to keep a weapon in their personal vehicle while on the job, we follow the law as written.
These policies are the same for all the brands in Darden Restaurants’ portfolio, and as with all of our company policies they are not subject to an individual manager’s discretion. If you were to see a “no guns” sign in a Darden restaurant where concealed and/or open-carry weapons are legally allowed, please contact our Guest Relations Department at 1-800-562-7837 and we will follow up with that restaurant management team.
I hope this answers your questions, (2ACheck), and we hope to see you in one of our restaurants soon!
We appreciate the time you took to contact us.
Sincerely,
Shari

The one I am talking about is in the Alamo Ranch at the 151 & 1604. I live about 15 miles from there in Helotes. There is a whole slew of restaurants there. I've been to all of them many times, but I won't be going back to that Olive Garden, even if their sign is invalid. I want to support only pro-2nd Amendment businesses (or at least, neutral ones — without any type of anti-gun sign, valid or invalid).

So, this number would be a valid number to call regarding the Olive Garden restaurant?

I think you may want to hold off any calls. I seem to remember that Olive Garden and Chili's for a couple chains make their own 'Unlicensed possession (TABC)' signs that they are required by law to post. If the sign was a really nice looking well made sign, then I believe that is what it is. I will try to go by the one near my office tomorrow and take a photo and you can see if it is the dame one. Until then, don't contact the company.

I agree. I will go by the one in Alamo Ranch this week and do the same.

If Chili's and Olive Garden are owned by the same company, I would be surprised to find out Olive Garden was posted and Chili's is not. I have been to several Chili's places and they only have the unlicensed possession signs. I've been in three different Olive Garden's and have also only seen the unlicensed possession signs in them.

ok not too sure, but as OG is a Darden Inc owned brand of restaurant if I am remembering correctly Darden does not have a policy prohibiting concealed weapons by patrons. ALL OG, Red Lobster and several others are company owned, they do NOT franchise, the company policy takes precedence not a managers wants or desires, gotta wait till I talk to my Darden contact and see if I am remembering correctly. but if I am it will be down post haste, managers can be terminated for improper/unauthorized signage at the stores

here is a list of stores owned by Darden inc. , all of these are owned and never franchised. Chilis is not on the list they are not owned by Darden

Red Lobster
Olive Garden
LongHorn Steakhouse
Bahama Breeze
Seasons 52
The Capital Grille
Eddie V's
Yard House

ok here ya go from Darden and 2A

I am 99% sure it is a Unlicensed possession sign that is in the form of a plaque to match the décor of the restaurant. I will take a photo of one tomorrow if I get a chance.

I will verify all the necessary information and go by the restaurant to take a picture of the sign. If it is indeed for unlicensed gun carriers only, then I will post here indicating a false alarm. If it is a 30.06 or an attempt to post an invalid no guns sign, I will also post here and call the parent company.

Thanks for all the info. All of this is good to know for the future as well.
