Current Law Quick Reference Card???????

Does anyone currently make a small 'quick reference' card for CHLs? Something that outlines the NO GO zones which one could keep in their wallet or over the car visor say???? It all gets more convoluted (or at least I get more confused) with each legislative session....

I don't know of one, but that's a great idea! If one doesn't exist now, I'll create one and post it as a pdf.

Dirn, that IS a good idea...I really do think so...

I have a B12 deficiency, and sometimes I forget what I am doing from time to time...

Actually, I made one to fit my dayrunner last month! A page or two each for TX and OK. I included not just prohibited places, but also selected deadly force laws. I used small fonts and summarized what I found online.

I have made something you can use. It is not a GO - NO GO guide, but it has all the relevant laws that you would be faced with on a daily basis and you can refer to if the need arises. Just have to figure out how to post it. Give me a sec.

I have made something you can use. It is not a GO - NO GO guide, but it has all the relevant laws that you would be faced with on a daily basis and you can refer to if the need arises. Just have to figure out how to post it. Give me a sec.

This is good stuff!!! Very handy, you could print it out, maybe laminate it and keep it up in the visor in your vehicle possibly to review if need be...

It certainly won't be considered reading or showing Law Enforcement if there is a conflict of opinion, but it might keep you out of trouble before you get into it...

But thats just my opinion...

This "pdf" file need to be placed in a sticky somewhere retrievable...

This along with any other printable reference material that comes out of this thread...

FYI, The bulleted list (pun intended) does lose some formatting when being copied here.

• Max caliber is .45
• Businesses may prohibit – no reqs for language or method (IIRC)
• Must disclose to LEO the fact that in possession of a concealed firearm pursuant to a valid CHL issued in another state.
• May carry into any establishment licensed to dispense alcohol where it does not constitute the primary purpose of the business.
• Prohibited places - Unlawful to carry in the following:
o Any structure, building, or office space which is owned or leased by a governmental authority for the purpose of conducting business with the public; (excluding parking lots)
o Any meeting of any gov. officials, school board members, or any other elected or appointed officials; (excluding parking lots)
o Prisons and jails; (excluding parking lots)
o Elementary or secondary school, or technology center school property; (including parking lots).
o Sports arena during a professional sporting event; (excluding parking lots)
o Place where pari-mutuel wagering is authorized by law; (excluding parking lots)
o College or university property (excluding parking lots)
• Prohibited place does not include and specifically excludes any property designated as a park, recreational area, or fairgrounds;
• No one can prohibit a person from storing a firearm in a locked vehicle in a parking area.
• A person is presumed to have held a reasonable fear of imminent peril of death or great bodily harm if the person against whom the defensive force was used was in the process of or had unlawfully and forcibly entered, a dwelling, residence, or occupied vehicle,
• A person who is not engaged in an unlawful activity and who is attacked in any other place where he or she has a right to be has no duty to retreat and has the right to stand his or her ground and meet force with force, including deadly force.
