lost my wallet what do i do?

Lost my wallet. Most frustrating situation to date. Had all of my necessities and 30$. I went on the dps site and went to report it lost there is a fee... does the fee get me a new one in the mail or am I just reporting that I lost it?

The $25 is for a replacement card. And remember you cannot legally carry until you get new plastic.

Unfortunately I had my ssc in there. I'm going to the dmv today and I never carry it regularly in my wallet. What do I need to do? My credit is bad and I turned off my debit card it was missing for about 2 hours when I noticed it missing. Noone used my card in that time so hopefully someone nice will return it somehow or maybe they just took the cash and threw the rest away. Argh!!!

why do people carry their SS cards?are you asking to have your idenity stolen?

If I lost my SS card, I think I'd sign up for Life Lock or similar. Just saying.

I just submitted the online lost license report, how long until I should expect a new one in the mail?

I lost mine on a Saturday in March. Filled out the online form around midnight. Received license in the mail the following Friday. I'm not sure if that is typical or not so good luck.

Call the credit reporting agencies and tell them to put a fraud alert or whatever it is on your name. They should be able to do something so that if anyone tries to apply for anything, the companies have to call you and verify it's really you.

Check insiide your shoes at home & in the washing machine. (Not a joke) Trash at home. Keep looking.

Due to the fact you had your SSN in the wallet you need to go on one of the credit bureaus, experian is easiest and put a 90 day fraud alert. They by law will notify the other 2 credit bureaus automatically. Then at 90 days request your credit from all 3 bureaus and make sure there is nothing new. You then will be good to go.

I hope you find it... and if not, I hope you have the same luck that I had.... my wallet was stolen out of my car and about 5 days later the entire wallet, minus cash showed up in my mail box. Someone found it and mailed it back to me in a padded envelope. That was years ago, before ID theft was a real concern so I was able to resume normal life.
