Yankies Immigrating To Texas

These auschlanders don't always understand that Texas is not just another place to live, but a whole way of life. They have to be trained in our ways, our attitudes, our values.

I am yankee born and raised. I moved to Texas in 1998. I have loved every minute of it! Texas is a proud state but not unlike many states if you were born there. I was taught the history of my birth state as well. Maybe that should be the pre-requisite for one when he or she moves to a new state.

The state I am transplanted from is by map, a blue state. It wasn't always and really isn't to this day. The people were hoodwinked by the democraps promising jobs to a people who were going through very hard times. They made good on those promises by bringing business into the state. It was at a cost to the people. Unbeknownst to the people, the politicians brought in only the type of business that supported their liberal views. An influx of flatlanders (big city folk that have never done a hard days labor) from surrounding states were encouraged to move there (If you haven't seen the movie, Funny Farm with Chevy Chase, check it out not too far off the mark). The native population have been trying to vote them out ever since but they are out numbered. The proud people of that state have generations that go way back in history are now leaving. It's unfortunate but they are a much wiser and they are less trusting of the government.

Be careful not to broad stroke a label as to make any newcomer feel unwelcome. Texas hospitality is unparalleled in any other state I've lived in outside my native state. I felt very welcomed and I intend to welcome any newcomer that may find a home here regardless of where they hailed from. As it's been said, "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could." If I find out any newcomer has been influenced by liberal views, then I will do my best to persuade them to crossover from the dark side into the light.

Welcome to Texas... very few people living in Texas actually began here. Including Davy Crocket, who helped to assure this would not be called Mexico.

You have me curious now. I live in Collin county and we have dominated in the conservative vote for as long as I can remember. I can believe the downtown area of Dallas might go libtard, but I was under the assumption that conservatives ruled the county as a whole. My google foo is apparently rusty because I am having a heck of a time finding some maps of the different areas and how they voted in 2012. I would be unpleasantly surprised to see either Dallas county or Collin county are moving into the socialists camp.

I do take some consolation from the Collin county vote. We must be the working folks who support the dead beats in the libtard counties.

I'm in Denton County and it seems pretty conservative here or at least my small corner of it. I'll be surprised if anyone voted for Obamination since many voters voiced their Republican support on their way out the door of the polling place.

No kidding. I lived in Lake Dallas for three years. 1981-1984. Nice place to live if you like fishing and have time for it.

I'm in Austin and there are some wacky folks here but for the most part they stick to 6th Street and UT. I find myself spending my off hours on the skirts of Austin. Manor, Pflugerville, Round Rock, etc... I get angry every time I see the illegal 30.06 sign at the entrance of city hall.

While I can understand the disdain for anti-2A perspectives that come along with these folks moving here Native Texas aren't doing themselves any favors by being purposely rude to folks moving here. Once Texas folks find out/figure put that you weren't born here they go out of their way to be rude and disrespectful.

I like it here. My wife and I have been traveling around Texas to see the sights. Dallas, San Antonio, Houston,and many awesome small towns between. One thing that most people (even Native Texans) don't really get, which I have read much on , is the Gonzales Battle Flag. Most folks call it the "Come and Take It" flag. The story of the flag embodies why Texas is a great place to be. Not just the 2A views but the sense of commitment and community. Standing your ground and not being taken like a sheep. Texans have the right to be proud. Instead of being rude, share the ideals of Texas that make you proud to be a native.

It seems like a lot of the heavy left leaning areas are close to or on the border.
