would u let a guy know he is printing?

Obvious case the other day at the Local gun store. We didn't say anything. Saw another guy at wally world that looked like you could see the texture on the grip of his Glock 22. Should I say somethimg? Am I required to say something? Is there a secret concealed carry code I could use to tip him off? Don't want to upset anybody but I think they might be breaking the law. What would you say?

I set across the restaurant of a man last night that as far as I knew was carrying a mid size auto, electronic device, medical device, etc. . .(I am 99% sure it was a pistol), but not 100%.

You cannot be 100% what they are carrying. There is no law against it so why draw attention?

If the shirt had ridden up behind the pistol and it was exposed I would of course let them know. This thing about "printing" could be a colostomy bag.

You are not required to say anything. I think some people know they are printing and just don't care. For those cases, saying something will not be likely to get a thank you in response. It depends on the situation. I don't think there is a rule here that fits every person. If the gun was actually exposed when the person moved, I would quietly tell the person their second amendment was showing if I could do so without getting too close and setting off the person's suspicion I was up to something. If I were in a store and my grip had caught on my shirt in a way that made it obvious, I sure would rather a kind person told me than I ended up being vulnerable to someone with an agenda to ruin my day.

The last time I mentioned to someone he was printing, it was in the checkout line at Best Buy, and he was in front of me. I discreetly got his attention and leaned in and said, "maybe it doesn't bother you, but you're printing pretty badly there." He turned the rest of the way around, facing me, pulled up the bottom hem of his jacket a bit, revealing the Grapevine PD badge on his belt, grinned and said "No, I don't worry about it at all."

If I was able to observe them enough to see if they were approachable, yes I would. It just depends...

Unless my weapon is physically exposed from concealment I usually don't care if I'm printing. I've had my CHL for 10 years and carried many different types of guns mainly OWB for almost all of those and have never had an issue. I honestly think that even when I'm wearing a shirt thats a lil tighter than I would like and I am pretty sure that I am printing that 99% of the people I encounter are clueless anyways. I often wear some sort of gun related t-shirts too. LOL I'm honestly pretty obvious to pick out as a person carrying to anyone who shares the sames interest but in my experience unless it's a LEO or fellow CHL holder most people pay no attention to stuff like that.

I have a few Red Jacket shirts, a Molon Labe shirt, a few Glock and Ruger shirts, etc.. Stuff like that.

This is why CHLers should be treated the same, OC legal with CHL and a CHL would grin and say "No, I don't worry about it at all."

Does every CHL'r out there even know what the word 'printing' means? Sure we all do here because we talk about it all the time. I like TexasGal's 2nd amendment bit.

I did once to a friend at the time. I didn't know he even had a CHL, but sure did that day. We were making a run to Whataburger for several friends that were together at an event and he put it on before we left. Regular pair of jeans and a fitted white t-shirt. While were standing in line waiting to order I could clearly see in his IWB that he had a mid sized Glock 9 or 40. I think I said something like, "I guess you have your CHL?" He actually seemed surprised. I told him he might want to think about a looser t-shirt and maybe a little darker color. He replied that as long as it was completely covered he was legal. I told him that was mostly correct, but even while covered if I can narrow it down to either of two models of Glocks then it might not be good enough cover. I think we only met once or twice more. Otherwise, he was a smart guy, but on this he was just plain defiant that what he was doing was adequate. He claimed he had never had a problem with it.

Because I've got a 1 year old I tend to have to do a lot of bending over and moving around so I know a couple times already my shirt has gotten caught up in the holster or on the grip (I've since moved the holster a bit to reduce this). I managed to catch it myself each time and only 1 time did somebody actually mention it to me. I don't so much care if I'm "printing" but if any part of the holster or gun itself were to become exposed I would greatly appreciate the heads up from a follow CHL'er. Thats also the only time I would say anything to anyone else too.
