San Augustine will be hosting the 22nd annual Sassafras Festival this weekend. It is being held around the court house square and all through downtown. Would it be legal to carry around the courthouse and enjoy the festivities or would it be a no-no because it is held on the courthouse square?
Thank you for your time.

Re: Sassafras Festival
I think it'd have to held inside the courthouse for that law to apply.
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

Re: Sassafras Festival
You are good to carry in the public areas. Premise means a building or a portion of a building. As long as you dont go in the building where ther court is you are good to carry.
Carry 24-7 or guess right.

Burnet's courthouse square has lots of guns in the cars of people going in to the Court House to vote, and lots of guns worn by people who are shopping or attending the Farmers Market each Saturday or the other events on the Square.
