What? You don't like my house?

This thread asked whether the Tremont House is 30.06 posted, which it is not. That question has already been answered correctly several times.

The OP did not ask for opinions about unrelated topics.

Galveston has more than 2 to 5 million tourist visits a year (down in 2008-9 because of Ike). Thousands more come here for work, college education, business, or some association with UTMB.

http://www.galvestonparkboard.org/meeti ... s-2008.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

In 2011 one person who did not live on the island—who was not a tourist—was the victim of a robbery-murder. The perpetrators are all in custody now and probably will be indicted for capital murder.

Someone who doesn't like it here has a very simple solution that involves pointing the steering wheel of his vehicle in a different direction.

One more factoid: Of the people who were living in Galveston Housing Authority "projects" before Ike, 26 who can be accounted for live in the mainland county. They could hardly commit all the crime that occurs in League City, Friendswood, Dickinson, etc, if they worked around the clock.

All the other former residents of GHA facilities either live on the island or have moved out of the county.

Thanks, but we have only one bathroom. You know how these 19th-century houses are.

I'm a guy...saw a big bathroom right outside your house... :rolll

Actually, we come up a couple of times a year. One of our stays is usually down in Pointe West at the Windancer. Love the place and setting. If we come down the second or third time, we generally stay at the San Luis. Needless to say there is always trips to The Spot, Gaidos, Fisherman's Wharf...and on and on. We used to go to Padre every year, but I fell in love with Galveston after I realized I could hit the beach in an area where it would be hard to count 20 people. Try that in Padre. Also, it is only about five hours from home while Padre is a good 12.

That's actually the Menard House, the oldest structure in the city still standing. You can visit on Sunday afternoons or rent it for private functions.

I live around the corner, in a disaster area.

Mrs. Anygun and I make the trip down to eat at numerous restaurants on a regular basis. We make the annual Jerry Jeff Walker show at the Grand Opera every year. Been known to attend Dickens on the Strand.

We often take a ride around the town enjoying the gulf breezes.

Galveston is as nice a place as any.

thanks for all the input.
had an uneventful trip, carried almost everywhere.

I saw one 51% sign, and not a single 'no guns' sign of any other type.

We went to Galveston for Chritmas. did not see anything dangerous but the place gave me a hinky feeling. it's not the same place we used to go when I was a kid. not planning on ever going back. If you have a CHL carry.
