I carry where and whenever, except for where I legally can't. I carry in the heat, in the rain, and at the beach. I have become a big fan of Ballistol gun lube and cleaner. I saw this on the Hickok45 YouTube Channel. I finally ordered some off of Amazon and gave it to myself for Christmas. This stuff is amazing. I also gave myself a Mosin Nagant for Christmas, and I cleaned the heck out of it three times with Hoppes, with alcohol, and with some noxious stuff my gun dealer recommended, and which would be guaranteed to cause cancer in lab rats. In case you are not familiar with the Mosin, it is a 7.62x54R platform that was created en mass (17,500,000). Mine was manufactured in 1936 and then retired, at some point, into cosmoline. Cosmoline is great for preserving a weapon, but it is a real pain in the tuckus to get off. I said all that to say this: The Ballistol got off stuff you would not have thought could still be there. In addition, it penetrates the wood to help keep it young, and it begins to season the metal...like a cast iron skillet becomes seasoned. It is because of this that I know I am safe carrying in those conditions. Plus, if I expose my firearms to adverse conditions, they are going to get a cleaning sooner rather than later.

Millions of 1911 pistols have gone to war in every climate, every weather condition and every slime and dirt infested place that exists on this earth.
My 1911 goes everywhere with me, no matter what the conditions are.
It will shoot wet, dry, cold, hot, clean, dirty or any combination of these.
It's not a Gluck, it's a COLT. It will run.
