It just seems it would be difficult to accurately evaluate the biggest "shamers." In my opinion, it would be the business blocking the greatest number of people, not the business with the most locations entered in the database. IMHO.

Shouldn't this error be reported to Texas ABC in order to get it removed? I'm just sayin...jmorris wrote:I don't know how you'd handle this one since your count is the number of entries for 30.06 signs but my entry for Jared's in NW San Antonio was for a 51% sign. Yes, honest to God, they have big red 51s that you can see from a block away posted on two doors, with the wording underneath. Either the manager at that store wanted to make sure it was invalid or they've got a ..er.. heck of a lot of something beside jewelry under the counters.
Heck no, we need the laugh.surprise_i'm_armed wrote:Shouldn't this error be reported to Texas ABC in order to get it removed? I've taken a NRA class there, and I've shot there. I also have carried concealed there. No problems. Not everyone is into the survivalist/quasi-military look. They want no FULL camo. It's an attempt to make all that shoot there comfy. Most skeet/trap shooters are dressed for their sport, not in camo. Their facility, their rules.El_Capitan wrote:I never thought I would say this but here is a shooting range that needs to be posted on the Wall of Shame. If you read there rules here http://gpgc.net/Rules%20-%20Rifle%20and%20Pistol.pdf They do not allow people to where camo there and they are NOT CHL friendly. They do not even allow human outline targets. It would not surprise me if they had a 30.06 sign on there door.
DO NOT go to this gun range. Below is one of thier rules.
• Assure NO shooting of cans, bottles, rocks or steel targets nor any wildlife nor any targets that depict a
human form or outline of a human form. (e.g. CCP silhouettes)

I agree no cans, bottles, etc and I could even live with the animal target exclusion, but human form or outline would mean a violation of rules to hold CHL qualifications wouldn't it? No full camo means the military people I see in field uniforms can't shoot there. Sometimes good intentions are ...Not.gemini wrote:I've taken a NRA class there, and I've shot there. No shooting cans, bottles etc because they are trying to keep their ranges free of trash etc. Most ranges don't allow "hunting", so.....
I don't understand the no silhouette target rule .... but I don't understand BPS's one shot per second rule either. I found nothing that made me think they were NOT CHL friendly. Please explain. Thank you.
This is very typical of gun ranges run by "old school" members. I saw it in a few places in Washington as well. I rather appreciate the no cans/bottles rule, and human form targets are a bit bothersome to me (silhouettes are fine). This kind of setup is designed for a different kind of customer than the CHL customer. Hunters are their primary audience.El_Capitan wrote:I never thought I would say this but here is a shooting range that needs to be posted on the Wall of Shame. The rule I posted was only to show that they do NOT allow silhouettes. With out silhouettes you can not practice for CHL test or qualify for CHL there. Hence NOT CHL friendly. I almost always shoot silhouette targets with my carry gun. I completely understand the no rocks, cans, bottles and steel targets for safety reasons and it would make a huge mess. So why should a member of the U.S. Armed forces dressed in his/her uniform not be allowed to shoot there? Like you said their facility their rules. I say my guns, my ammo, my silhouettes and my money will simply go else where. Then everyone will be happy.gemini wrote:I've taken a NRA class there, and I've shot there. I don't believe many members of the armed forces would want to wear their uniform while on recreational time. At least not here stateside. The uniform is something you wear to work, not for play especially off base. The only people I see wearing camo at the range are hunter types or military wanabees. Soldiers and Marines wear and see uniforms enough that they don't have to play dressup to go to the range, bowling or any other recreational activiity. Back in the day it was against regs to wear the uniform out to play. Today not so muchEl_Capitan wrote: The rule I posted was only to show that they do NOT allow silhouettes.
