Re: The end of the road.
It didn't. The 'privilege' as defined by the State of Texas was revoked. It did not revoke your 'rights' as defined by the second amendment to the Constitution. If you so desire to 2nd amendment carry, you will have a battle with the State of Texas. It will be a long and expensive battle possibly ending with a SCOTUS decision.Gambit wrote:I did not realize that took my right to carry away;

Re: The end of the road.
Sorry new to the form. So if you are having issues with getting accepted for your Texas CHL you can apply for a Florida one?
Does your Florida one have all your Texas information on it?

Yes, but I've been having trouble finding any legislation that has passed that could make this unavailable.
Re: The end of the road.
Florida hasn't passed any laws like that but Utah has, and Pennsylvania now requires an in-person visit.TexasLlama wrote:Yes, but I've been having trouble finding any legislation that has passed that could make this unavailable.

Ok. Looking for the link now to find more information if you have to be a resident in Florida or not.

Re: The end of the road.
Also, for anyone referencing this thread, I was wrong about what I said on page 1.
If you have a Deferred Adjudication that a judge signs off on an order of non-disclosure, that qualifies as being "Vacated, sealed, expunged, set aside..." as far as the qualifications on 411.171. It DOES NOT matter if it was one of the permanently disqualifying crimes (such as the example here of burglary of a habitation)... if you petition the court and are granted an order of non-disclosure on your DA, then you are eligible for a CHL (so long as you meet all of the other qualifications).
A lot of minor felonies (did I just type "minor felonies"...) are eligible for an order of ND 5 years after you are discharged from your DA.
