gun buster sign

#1

Post by tubular031 »

I am at a training class this week and on the door there is a sign that says weapons not permitted on dell property with the gun buster sign. Now I know this is not a legal no carry sign like the 30.06 sign. So what is the point? According to the sticky and what I remember from the class I just ignore it and carry like I do every day right?

Unless you have been told verbally no carry or have been handed a written document with the 30.06 wording, then you are legal to carry. Now, if you are an employee, then you can be fired if you violate the policy on having a firearm on property unless it is locked in your personal vehicle.

so why bother putting that on the door? Just to remind the employees?

I have another customer that has a sign near their door that says something like no person is allowed to carry a weapon or firearm on company property. I ignore that one also since its not a 30.06 sign.

So if they come to me and say, hey don't carry here, then I have to follow that correct?

Many companies are required to post gun buster signs by their insurance companies. This signs will keep a CHL out in most other states. The Insurance companies do not know that Texas is different.

Yes, a verbal notice is binding and if you violate that, then you can be charged with criminal tresspass by a license holder.
