A few q's before applying

#1

Post by frbejarano »

I've got a few questions before applying for my CHL. I was charged with HARASSMENT and TERRORISTIC THREAT OF FAMILY/HOUSEHOLD which both of these charges were dismissed on 3/14/08. I am wanting to apply but don't want to go through the process and get denied. Will these 2 charges affect the outcome of my approval even though they were dismissed? Thanks for the help.

Eligibility is not impaired if the charges were dismissed, but you still have to disclose the arrest and processing will go faster if you get official documents for the disposition (or document no charges pending) and include them with your application.

Thanks, I've already got copies but will get certified copies before I proceed.

Okay... One more question. I was reading up on eligibility and came across this -

(4) is not charged with the commission of a Class A or Class B misdemeanor or an offense under Section 42.01, Penal Code, or of a felony under an information or indictment;

This says nothing on if the charge was dismissed. It just says if you were charged. Can some one explain?

AEA is correct. They mean is charged not previously was charged but charges were dropped or you were found not guilty.
