Afraid that my gun would be mistaken as a phone
Guys,
Today I visited an office suite that was hosting a standardized test that I need for career certification. It was neither posted, nor verboten in any way; but cell phones, and wallets were not allowed in the testing center. The entire time I was taking the test I was worried that the LCP bulge in my front pocket would be mistaken for a wallet or cell.

You're right. There are 30 words written on the frame, barrel, slide, and laser (I didn't bother to put the warning stickers on the laser). If questioned, I was gonna' call it pepper spray and pull it out enough to reveal the lil' plastic handle if forced to do so.speedsix wrote:...with all the writin' on a Ruger, it could be mistaken for a cheat sheet for a "pop" quiz....

They had lockers inside the office in plain sight of the front desk. I left my cell in my car, the wallet and keys in the locker, and the gun and extra magazine in my pockets.mr surveyor wrote:no wallets?????

Small of back carry would have eliminated your concerns.Embalmo wrote:Guys,

Like I said, I was gonna' say it was pepper spray. I would have pulled it out just enough to reveal the plastic of the handle to show it wasn't a cell or wallet, or any electronic device. If there was any hassles beyond that, I would have walked out before the cops were called. I figured that it was small enough and plasticy enough to be one of those little pepper spray gun.Shinesintx wrote:Small of back carry would have eliminated your concerns.Embalmo wrote:Guys,

I would let them call you out, unless you was in a 30.06 area Just tell them, they would get a big BANG from this cell phone
If they call you out, take the person aside, and if they insistence, lift your shirt, in NO way Pull your gun from your holster, unless they are a reporter, as Sen. Lori Klein did

I was packing inside of a prometric. I did keep my tdl and Chl in my front pocket. They are not that observant, they are looking for cheaters. If you go in and don't exhibit any suspicious behaviors, you will be fine. I do prometric tests almost every year - zero problems

Where was your CHL plastic at the time you were in the classroom? I hope you didn't leave it in your wallet. It is my understanding that to be covered by the CHL you actually have to have it on your person when you are carrying. Or am I mistaken?Embalmo wrote:They had lockers inside the office in plain sight of the front desk. Hmm. Good question. I'm guessing it is not the same as leaving it home; maybe more like your driver license being in the glove compartment. It was technically in the same room.softwarejanitor wrote:Where was your CHL plastic at the time you were in the classroom? I hope you didn't leave it in your wallet.
