Chuck-E-Cheese
I took my grand kids to Chuck-E-Cheese this morning and was kind of surprised they had a 30.06 sign
on the front door. I had to leave my gun in the truck.
Are a lot of kid places posted? I never gave it a thought until today.

Re: Chuck-E-Cheese
The one I went to was in Selma, Texas. The sign was kind of small and I did not have time to really scrutinize it. I hadRussell wrote:Chuck E. Cheese's is a top offender for 30.06 signs. See the "Wall of Shame" at the top of texas3006.com.
my grand kids so I just left the gun in the car.
The Wall of Shame say there are 12 locations do not know if Selma was one of them but since I saw the sign I thought it
best to just comply.
The sign looked legal but even so I really would not like to challenge the sign when my grand kids are with me for a good time.

I hate to use the cliche, "concealed is concealed"...so I won't. If you recognize the sign as not being legal, and if you know how to carry, then I do not see too much risk here. I guess the poor, slob teen-ager in the mouse suit might frisk you...but probably not.

Add it! Won't be on the list until someone adds it. (Just looked, no Selma Chuck-E-Cheese).RockingRook wrote:The one I went to was in Selma, Texas. Ya, I'm confused on the angle Chuck-E-Cheese is going with this. Someone did the research and got the wording 100%, but didn't do the 1" per the law. Why do one thing and not the other? They trying to act like they don't want a CHL or they really don't want a CHL?johnson0317 wrote:I hate to use the cliche, "concealed is concealed"...so I won't. Regardless, when I went and spoke with the management at my local Chuck-E-Cheese, both managers knew fully well what the sign meant to do. I graciously told them they have lost my business and any business that my kids' teams might give them in the future. When I got home, I emailed Chuck-E-Cheese (contact us) and told them the same thing.

Re: Chuck-E-Cheese
I agree that you wouldn't be at risk of getting caught carrying and having any type of legal battle based on that sign if you carry properly.
It's the "what if" I have to use it to defend myself that scares me!
If I"m in a non-posted place and defend myself from a deadly threat, then I'm pretty comfortable with the likely outcome.
If I'm at a place like ChuckECheese and have to do that, well, even if it's a totally legal and justifiable use of my firearm, I could still face a civil suit. Chuck E Cheese or AMC theaters or any of these moronic places that post, may just choose to come after me. That risk is what keeps me from even chancing it... So that + the fact that I won't support any business that chooses to disarm me keep me out.

if it is a good shoot the Castle Doctrine should stop a civil suit. Also, Chuckie coming after you for a simple trespassing charge is the least of your concerns.

It would only protect me against civil suit from the criminal or his family as I understand it.rm9792 wrote:if it is a good shoot the Castle Doctrine should stop a civil suit. Also, Chuckie coming after you for a simple trespassing charge is the least of your concerns.
Chuck could sue for any number of things... not just trespassing.

Who's going to protect you from the screaming, screeching, wailing mini-terrorists (and their mommas) who Chuckee caters to?Scott in Houston wrote:It would only protect me against civil suit from the criminal or his family as I understand it.rm9792 wrote:if it is a good shoot the Castle Doctrine should stop a civil suit. Re: Chuck-E-Cheese
Personally I do not think it is wise to challenge the sign in a kid's place while you have the kids there.
For me the best thing is to just not frequent the place. I will take them to McDonald's they have a playground.
Besides it is cheaper!!
I do not think McDonald's is posted yet. The way to challenge those "chain establishments" is to do it "en mass."
I still do not think it will do any good but maybe the threat of losing business might work.

Re: Chuck-E-Cheese
I ran into the one here in San Antonio and was surprised too. I had checked 30.06 before coming over and didn't see it listed. Soon as I got home I fixed that. We don't go there any more.

Re: Chuck-E-Cheese
I agree completely. Some people don't think we have enough 'bargaining power' as a group to effect this type of change - but I disagree. If enough of us let them know there are losing business, change can happen. There have already been a few example of this working - albeit with smaller local companies.RockingRook wrote:I do not think McDonald's is posted yet.
