Bicycle Carry

Any bikers out there who have found a good carry method? My snub nose revolver is too big for my current tool bag and I don't want it on my person.

Glock 23 IWB holster and baggy T-Shirt. I seem to get away with it pretty well.

I would really be concerned carrying in any other fashion where the weapon is not instantaneously accessible.

I know you said not on your body, but that's not that easy. There are a few people here that have used Maxpedition products. I've thought about them. Here's one I've thought about.

I bet some velcro could be sewn onto the opposite side so that a soft holster could be attached to that. That have some other nice bags too.

I have a larger camelbak that doubles as a day bag. The reservoir is removable and is rarely used. In this pocket I slide my G27 with the zipper half closed. Not instant access but easier and safer with a crash (I mountain bike).

Maybe Wilderness Safepacker is a possibility depending on the bike' the rear securing flap shown in bottom video on a seatbelt can attach to nearly anything hang from a rack or luggage rack bar (or handlebars maybe-I haven't tried it, I carry IWB when on bike... if you want me to try it, lemme know), but it isn't a gunsafe so you don't want to leave it on a bike and go in a store etc.

Thanks, I had looked for a type of Paniers/saddlebags which haven't been made since the 70s probably so am making my own, but I like this too ...

When I bike, I'm usually carrying a NAA Black Widow on a neck lanyard under my shirt.
Alternately, I've used an under-seat pouch that converts to a clip-on fanny pack if you have to leave the bike. I didn't like it being out of sight, though, so I velcro'd it to the bar right in front of the seat.
Now that I think on it, I bet my Black Widow would fit in a drink cup in the downtube drink holder.

Desantis Belly Band works quite well. I can put my S&W 637 at 5oclock and do not have to worry about it falling out etc.

I use the same setup as my jogging atire. But to save some pain, I push the pack to the side to clear vital body parts. I jog/ride with my favorite pistol, Glock 17.

The only real trail here in Lubbock is in a not-so-good part of town, and the trail is somewhat isolated, traveling past areas with obvious past or current "gathering" activity. I've though about a fanny pack or a bag up front, because I really want the firearm where I can get to it in a pinch. An under-seat bag makes no tactical sense to me, and an IWB or other normal holster just won't work for me in off-road applications. I appreciate all the thoughts here.

I have a 4 pouch AK magazine holder strapped to the front handle bars of my mountain bike, it hangs directly over the front tire. I keep a loaded pistol in there, along with spare tubes and patches, I never latch the flaps, that way I can just reach over the bars and grab my gun.

I have the same pouch, but do not use it for EDC. I bought it in anticipation of getting back on my road bike, it should work very well in that mode. It is a very well made pouch and well worth the cost.

I've been mountain biking for several years and I carry every time I ride. I wear lightweight cargo shorts over bike short liners. I wear a T-shirt with cover shirt with my normal OWB holster. I put three mags on the opposite side so the weight is balanced. Basically, I don't dress up for my bike rides. The only requirement of my biking outfit is that my shorts have belt loops.

I'm not at all what I would call "fat" but I certainly would feel silly in one of those skin tight biking outfits with the pretty colors. Besides, there's no concealment options.

The only issue I've ever had was when I took a spill and apparently hit the ground in a way that loaded my pistol up with sand. It took a complete tear down to the firing pin to clean all the sand out.

There have been rapes & murders along some of the trails I frequent. (Meyer Park area of north Houston) I have no worry about myself but I do keep my eyes open for any non-outdoor types that may need to be brought to the attention of the gendarms.
