From what I have seen of Texas roads the choice of weapon for killing Armadillos is the 3/4 ton pickup (brand not important).kjolly wrote:Their amor is pretty tough. Might need something more stout than a 22.
The shovel sounds like a good idea and safer for the neighborhood.

Quoting that link:dcphoto wrote:If it's legal to shoot there, and you have permission and a hunting license, then it's legal to kill the dillo.

So I guess as long as you make darn sure it's not alive, you'll be good to go.ARMADILLOS: Possession and sale of live armadillos is restricted.

Yes, they do. http://www.straightdope.com/columns/rea ... ry-leprosyAndyC wrote:Is it true dildos carry leprosy? Can anybody confirm that?
The author says:
I don't know about yall, but I never had any intentions, nor will I ever have any intentions, of borrowing a hanky in a leper colony. We're still not sure of such basic facts as how you catch it. (Apparently nasal discharges are one form of transmission, so I guess you don't want to borrow a hanky in a leper colony.)

According to my dad--his dad was on a work site. Saw an armadillo, shot it, he then brought it home they skinned it and ATE IT . According to Dad (who is not ancient--in his mid-50's) when they barbequed it he said it tasted like gamey pork. I gotta give that a girly EEEEEWWWWW!

Re: A question of Armadillos
Well, confusion reigns.
I got on the TWPD site last night to order a license, to be on the safe side...even was going to get two day delivery. The problem is that it would expire in September, and two day shipping does not count on the Friday, or the weekends.
One of the members on this forum has offered to come and off the little rascal with his bow and arrow, and to dispose of it. If I get a call at a reasonable hour, then I will get him to come do it.

Re: A question of Armadillos
Just go to your local sporting goods store.... Academy, Bass Pro, whatever, and leave with the license in your pocket. No waiting. That said, licenses are good from September 1st to August 31st, so it may not be worth it for you to get one just to shoot a pesky armadillo that you could likely kill by "accidentally" backing your car over it.
